A Legacy of Precision and Passion
Stump Removal is all we do, and it shows
It all started when ten year old Al Steadman fired up a chainsaw in the living room to trim the base of a Christmas tree. Amid the haze of blue smoke, the future seemed clear. Though Al would go on to train as a Class A mechanic and work full-time in automotive engineering, he did start his own weekend tree service in the early 1990’s. By 2007, the company was incorporated. Over time, the focus became solely on stump grinding, and Steadfast Stump Removal was born.
In 2022, after 26 years of company loyalty, Al’s full-time position became a pandemic casualty and was outsourced to another country. Jude decided it was time to officially retire her social work license, and together they took the business full-time.
Al and Jude have been married for 28 years and are owned by their special needs rescue cat, Miss Lucy. When not ‘stumping’, they are globe-trotting, adventure-seeking, and pitching in where they can.

Community Engagement
From the very beginning, giving back has been a core value of Steadfast Stump Removal. Stemming from their own personal commitment to actively engage in community betterment, it was only natural for Al and Jude to extend this to their business. Stump jobs are not only a livelihood for them, they are a means to contribute time, service and/or financial donations to enhance the valuable work of community organizations.
